Welcome to Evangelicals for Cannabis!  Here is my attempt at explaining why Evangelical Christians should support the legalisation of Cannabis and why the Christians who stand up and call it the ‘devil’s weed’ are both mistaken and absolutely ignorant of the Bible.  There is already a wonderful website called ‘Christians for Cannabis’ which I suggest you look at but I felt the more info on the net the better, as well as making sure people are fully aware that Christians who support the legalisation of cannabis are not all liberal theologians. 

I’ll state now that I attend a Baptist Church.  I know it is unusual for a Baptist to be for anything to do with drugs (be it smoking, alcohol, cannabis or even caffeine in some extreme cases!) but the Christian guideline should be the Bible not any denomination or tradition.  And it is my utter conviction that the Bible in absolutely no way prohibits the use of cannabis and its use is of absolutely no offence to God.  Not only that but I believe a Government that keeps cannabis illegal enforces tyrannical laws, leads people to hard-drugs and shows very little of the love that Jesus commanded we show.  I’m not putting up any Statement of Faith because I don’t feel that is necessary when I’m just arguing for a single issue and it only causes divisions.
